KEVIN BIELICKI

     These works are inspired by Plate Tectonics. Here Kevin draws inspiration from geology. Combining dissimilar paints like latex and oil onto a masonite ground the paint separates, clumps, mixes, and clusters to mimic the movement of plates along and under the earth's surface. He then disassembles the work rearranging the remaining lines into new compositions. This idea plays of “Pangaea”, that earth's land was once a large super continent.  He frames his pieces in steel that he textures to compliment the physical integrity of the marks on the painting.
